Spring cannot come soon enough/Challenge

Spring cannot come soon enough. I am SO ready for spring and was going to wait until tomorrow to post this Butterfly Mobile I created but decided to post tonight for my overseas visitors to enjoy...
As you can tell I have been posting projects with Core'dinations ColorCore Cardstock, this new, versatile, and unique cardstock truly was "the buzz" at this years Winter CHA show. Each sheet has a "core'dinating" core color, which can be revealed through Sanding, Tearing and Antiquing. I have had a blast playing with it I hope you get a chance to check it out because this stuff is AWESOME! More Projects to come soon... Hope you enjoy.

I'll post One on Saturday and One on Sunday...

Here Is the Challenge part for anyone who wants to play. Come back to this post and link me to ANY Primarily cardstock project you have created ( cardstock focused ), no Pattern paper preferred. Lurkers Welcome :) I will then put your name in the hat for a selection of Coredinations Cardstock The challenge ends Next Friday. If you have Coredinations cardstock I would love to see what you have done with it...

Random Thoughts

What a busy week. I have been back and forth to the vet for my little dog Kelsey... She has not been feeling well. So I have been trying to keep her comfortable. She has been with me for over 12 years now so the thoughts of losing her have crept upon me. I get pretty emotional thinking about it but am trying really hard to stay positive and trust in the Vet. By the way...Isn't she cute??? Not bad looking for her age! 7 dog years for each human year x12= 84. Wow... That coversion must not be right.

Now on the other things...
I created a little Mardi Gras mask With Corediantions Black Magic Papers, embossing folders and some bling. If you have not had the opportunity to play with it, you need to. I am going to be doing a Give-Away of some of the Vintage Papers next week. So all of you lurkers out there... I know there are many, stop back and play. The requirements for the Challenge will be easy!!!

The last image is Another card I did for the CPS sketch. Tami creates some of the best sketches...So fun Go check them out is you get a chance!!!

Pursuit of Craftyness... This blog has been rockin with inspiration. Today Miki has created the most adorable over the shoulder purse... Dang I mat need to make a trip to California to have her show me a tip or two. Head on over to the blog and check out the challenge that Melissa put up and maybe create a Bag of your own with the Tutorial for the purse.

Well off to clean up some of my scrappy mess... and maybe, just maybe I can make a few more things. Tomorrow, I will be posting a favorite project or two of mine... Based of the Spring Renewal I as talking about earlier. I love butterflies... So that may be a hint.

I love Spring time

Spring what a wonderful time of year... I love the flowers and the new buds and the butterflies and the thought of renewal. I have been Spring cleaning and have been inspired to start NEW with many things. My boys first Communion is a week from Saturday and I am preparing for that but I wanted to share this little box I made. LOTS of butterflies ready to take flight. To me the butterfly is the symbol of a new start, something fresh. The Quote is what I used on the Announcement for the boys Gathering next week, It is by Paper Trey Ink. The Cardstock is By Coredinations...LOVE this stuff. The Texture is Awesome and it sands like a dream throw in a little stickles for good luck and there you have it! Just shy of 100 Punches makes this little box scream of Springtime.

Just Living is not enough

Just living is not enough....

This card is based of the CPS sketch 60...You need to check these ladies out they are awesome!
These first few words from the Inque Boutiques quote rings deep in my heart. This card is 99% Crate paper. I cut and curled the upper butterflies. The lower butterfly I turned and flipped one to create the 4 wings.

I created one more card for this sketch I will post tomorrw.

Pursuit of Craftyness and continued friendship

I love to CREATE. It gives me an addrenaline rush really when I get into the groove, so this little notebook is just perfect for random quotes, sketches, ideas and color combos....
Anyone that really knows me, knowsI am never brief... But I will try as I have to share this news with all my visitors and friends. Back in August 2005 I joined a terrific group of women on the Paper Salon Design Team... Back when it was rubber stamps, card bases and slip ins for the coordinating envelopes, no 12x12 Scrapbook Paper. The owner at the Time, Carla had a vision and It was a joy being a part of the Team as her product line grew and grew and grew. Carla had sold Paper Salon to DGI a little over a year ago and now Gartner Studios, has purchased Paper Salon. With that purchase Gartner debated the need for a design team and has since decided to dissolve the team. It is with such a heavy heart, that I announce this. This TEAM has been such a huge part of my life for many years now. I have learned so much and been inspired by these talented women. I have developed life long friendships I never would have had without being a part of this group of amazing women.

Fortunately for me.... We have started a new venture together. A blog of inspirations combining all of our unique style bringing something for everyone to enjoy, the Pursuit Of Craftyness will be a place with challenges, giveaways, tips, occasional sketches and so much more, because we are not only creating cards but all levels of PAPER CRAFTING. So Please do not hesitate, come over and join in on our challenges we would love to see what you create!

A lazy day

I work this weekend but today seems like a lazy day... The weather man has discussed possible SNOW again this weekend... The sky is grey and the wind is howling. I am really up to my eyeballs with winter. The buds are starting to pop on the trees and the lillies and tulips and bulbs are all starting to peek out of the ground... I am SO ready for spring. Maybe it is a good thing I work this weekend so I do not get too crabby at home... Enough winter weather already. Oh gee as I look outside I am seeing flurries of sleet and snow... JOY!
The card I made with the embossing folder from Provo and 5 (1x4) inch strips of cardstock to the black base. I sanded it a bit and added the rubon and Done. Don't throw away your scraps...It doesn't take much to make a fun card.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Feels like spring...

Here is a little Spring time project I did a while back showing of the use of scrapelastic from Paper salon. This elastic could easily be replaced with twill or full trim or ribbon. I have been using this to record special events in my jobs...Things I have learned from and things that inspire. Get out your ribbon scraps And play. I would love to see what you come up with!

Happy Birthday!!! Grandma...

What a group of ladies... The one sitting in the center is my Grandma... 93 years young. She is the most amazing woman ever and I am so lucky to have her as mine. I was fortunate to eat dinner with her on Saturday and Sing her Happy Birthday. The other 4 ladies in the picture are my Aunts. This little plaque was altered with Chesapeake Papers by Karne Nueberger and given to grandma and was also featured in the Paper Salon Catalogue last year.
Thanks for all your words of Wisdome Grandma and HAPPY BIRTHDAY...A little late.

Hmph! internet struggles.

My internet has been down now for 5 hours. SO very frustrating!
So here are some pictures from the Mall of America, fun was had by all! No clean up done really...Plan on making them better with some PS assistance later.
I will also update more about the rest of our spring break later....The Circus was a definite circus... Long story to be shared at another time:)
Sunday CPS card is all DIGI....YIKES!!! I will give you a hint first, I am not a digi person...YET! This was a challenge. But a fun small peek of my end result is actually in one of the above photos...
CAN YOU find anything you think may be my inspiration, besides the sketch of course?

I am off to take pics of some of the paper craft items I have done...Will try and share a few this week. OH and I got a delivery of the new Coredinations cardstock today....alll I can say is NUMMY!!!!!! WOWZERS!!! Way better that the images show good stuff! I'll create with that too and try and post something tomorrow!! Fun stuff!

Have a happy Sunday!

Later...

I am unhooking the computer and rehooking it up elswhere is then house will be back later with Nickelodeon Amusement Park Pictures... and a couple other crafty things!

Once you go MAC you never go back, or so I've been told

So I am in love with this computer, well maybe not love yet, but definitly lust. Nummy! Nummy!

DROOL

So seamless, so wonderful, so easy to use, or so I hope and have been told. I have been told once you go MAC you never go back! We will see. So within the next couple months this will be mine. I am very excited to say the least, I think of the MAC, as the same as when I was a kid... I was SOOOO WRONG!! YEAH!!! First it is tower free... More space. The screen is a protected screen no LCD. The graphic capabilites is outstanding and the have Word compatibe files which could have been a deal closer but that makes it even better. There is 52 hours of 1 on 1 education with the purchase on one of these and all data transfer for less than 100.00 They will help you with whatever you are trying to achieve! So again Can I (SCREAM) the excitement is getting the best of me!!! Dh was even impressed and he sees no point in upgrading until we were in the store. So for Mother's Day... Momma is getting a MAC. Bring on the digital cards and Layouts then. I may just figure them out yet. :) http://www.apple.com/imac/technology/

Question to pose If you are a Mac owner...One tip to help out a new user/buyer.... I will have a New Hard to find, Ranger white pen to send out to a Random poster.

Gina K Stamps

Today I am headed out to play a bit. Kids, DH and I are going to Ridemakerz in the Mall of America. We are then going on some of the rides in the Nickelodeon Theme Park...After wish a necessary stop to IKEA. Wish me Luck!
As a part of the CPS team I had the opportunity to play with this great set of stamps by Gina K.
The first card uses American crafts papers, I pleated the 'ribbon from paper' a tag from Jenni Bowlin. I also stamped on the vellum creating a more 3-d look layering the vellum over the card stock stamped images. Of course I am also a bit in love with my new continuous border punch, threading water, from Fiskars.
The second card uses a bit of Crate paper, Printable cotton, Colorbox ink, COPIC markers-num. The buttons are the clear and white package from buttons galore. It is a great package of buttons, because you can color to match anything you are creating with the Copics. I again Punched the cotton with my punch. Was not sure if it would work...but it did! I then stamped on my twill and tied in a knot. When I distressed the card base, I used a cotton ball. It gave a more defined brush stroke...and I liked that for this.
Random question... What is you favorite color? can you narrow it down??? I know I can't.
